As I sit here talking to people online it makes me wonder how long it will take before instant messaging creates a new language. There might be a whole generation of children growing up that think probably is spelled 'prolly.' And are they putting emoticons in school papers? *ponders*
I also wonder if starting a new paragraph without an indent is becoming the standard. I still use correct grammar when I IM, although I don't know why, but the space between paragraphs idea is catching on. I don't really ever remember it when I was younger. Probably because everything was double spaced.
And why is abbreviation such a long word?
